School Medicaid Lunchinar Feedback Survey Results
We get lots of great feedback and input on our School Medicaid Lunchinars. With several hundred attendees from all over the country, we hope that it's hitting the mark of providing quality information on a program that doesn't get a lot of attention.
But we want to be sure that we're hitting that mark. So at the end of the last few school years, we've polled all of the folks who've registered for a Lunchinar with a short online survey. We had a great response this year and want to share the results.
Question: What type of organization do you work for? |
|
Although we have lunchinar attendees from all walks of life, the majority of them do come from LEAs (school districts). That's good to know as the majority of our topics are focused on School Medicaid from the school district/provider point-of-view. It's an interesting counter-point that most of the discussions/phone calls we have with people around the country come from billing companies. We're pleased that our topics appeal to a broad audience! |

Question: Have you ever invited a colleague to attend a Rokay lunchinar? |
|
We're really happy with this result. The first time we conducted the lunchinar survey, the answer to this question was about 15%. It's now almost 50%. Thank you to everyone who attends - and thank you for spreading the word about the lunchinars. We can really tell too. In the last year, our average attendance per lunchinar is WAY up. We hope thie year's topics keep people spreading the word! |

Have you ever listened to a lunchinar recording or recommended one of the recordings to a colleague? |
|
In response to many requests, we first posted a lunchinar recording in the 2018-2019 school year. Last year was the first full school year we posted all lunchinar recordings. No matter what time we schedule a lunchinar, someone would always have a conflict. We're glad that people find the recordings useful. A follow-up question to this indicated that more than 30% of all survey respondents have attended a live lunchinar AND listened to the same recording. Just can't get enough of that lunchinar vibe can you?? |
|
Have you used any of the information from a lunchinar in your daily job? |
|
Probably the most gratifying response of the entire survey. We provide the lunchinars to spread information about School Medicaid. With such a diverse audience from so many different types of organizations, it's difficult to hit the mark with every topic for every person. With new people entering the School Medicaid field, we try to blend new/old information in our topics. But we are very gratified that almost everyone has found at least something in the lunchinars that they can use in their real lives. |
We also want to respond to a few comments from the survey:
Have you ever considered bringing in guest speakers or collaborators on the sessions?
YES! Great suggestion. We've already got our first guest collaborator lined up for November's lunchinar.
I understand the audience is from everywhere but it would be nice to get some data/info state specific when you talk about a topic.
Agree. It WOULD be nice. But it wouldn't be fair to give specific information to people from Wisconsin and not everyone else. Also, even though Bob has worked in a lot of different states with different plans, he doesn't keep up with all changes/notices and it would be more dangerous than you know if he gave out bad information. We try to give out general information so that people can find the specifics of their state. BUT if you have difficulty locating information for your state on specific topics, be sure to reach out and we'll see if we can help. So far, only one state (no names) made it almost impossible to find information on their School Medicaid program.
Why aren't special education teachers trained on Medicaid elements when they are in an internship? When they get on board, they aren't aware of School Medicaid.
It's a good question but there are a lot of "real life" things college doesn't teach. Imagine being a new special education teacher conducting your first IEP meeting with lawyers, upset parents, etc. I can't imagine a worse scenario. We have considered packaging some of the lunchinar topics into a School Medicaid 101 online course. Maybe we can consider that this year.
Makes me smile. I think it's the only webinar that makes me smile.
Yay! When I explained a "School Medicaid webinar" to one of my brothers, he asked, "Bob, do people really WANT to hear about that?" Well, we know you all DO want to hear about the topic - and that's it can be dry and boring. We'll keep trying to find ways to keep it interesting!
